Letter from the Chairman: Our Commitment to Society

Goals for 2009-2011

To continue dedicating our resources, time and effort to social and cultural projects in order to advance social progress in societies where Telefónica Group operates.
To create new institutional alliances and collaboration agreements with educational, social and cultural organizations. These entities offer the foundation their knowledge and experience with existing social problems, and the best way to respond to them.
To increase and strengthen synergies between different Fundación Telefónica programs in order to deal efficiently with society’s problems.
To continue supporting the application of Information and Communications Technologies to improve education through the EducaRed program; making cutting-edge tools and content available to all of the educational community through the Global EducaRed 2.0 portal, as well asvarioustraining programs and instruments for group work.
To continue working on the eradication of child labor in Latin America, broadening the scope of the Proniño program to cover 172,000 children and adolescents.
To position Telefónica Volunteers leaders in Spain and Latin America for corporate volunteer service, while also developing the Telefónica 02 Europa Program.
To make Debate and Knowledge the leader worldwide for study of the Information Society, promoting and coordinating research projects, analysis and debates with the most influential figures.
To continue bringing art, culture and the most original creations to an ever-expanding audience, producing prominent cultural spaces.
