Fundación Telefónica in the Media in 2008

The foundation has a policy of openness with the media, and a permanent relationship based on truth and transparency. News agencies, newspapers, magazines, radio and internet regularly speak with all the communication areas of Fundación Telefónica.

In 2008, Fundación Telefónica redesigned its web page, incorporating new sections of updated information on the five programs it operates in Spain and 13 Latin American countries: EducaRed, Proniño, Telefónica Volunteers, Debate and Knowledge, and Art and Technology.

On of the new sections is “Get to Know Us”, which details the foundation’s institutional facts, as well as the section “Events Calendar”, a listing of the presentations, lectures and gatherings that are taking place around the world. The “Press Coverage” section adds to the available information, with a search option for press releases published in all the countries where the foundation operates.

Fundación Telefónica’s new web page now has AA adaptability with respect to Web 1.0 accessibility guidelines, which help disabled internet users. It has also added XHTML 1.0 recommendations. In the future, it will be adapting to the new standards and guidelines for Web 2.0 accessibility.
