Education is the key to the future. For this reason, Fundación Telefónica concentrates its efforts on this, and specifically, through the EducaRed program, on applying Information and Communications Technologies to schools. This program provides the latest advances and opportunities through its portals, training plans, and face-to-face activities. Above all, EducaRed is earnestly committed to assisting teachers, students, parents and schools.
Education is the key to success (past, present or future) as well as the advancement of societies. There are numerous studies and indicators showing correlation between levels of education and the degree of a country’s influence, wealth and social welfare. In this regard, investing in top quality education will help reduce poverty and socio-economic inequalities between countries.
Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), with the option of didactic use of Internet, new networks and tools, is bringing about a technological and pedagogical renewal. These changes can help secure equal access to education and, above all, greater levels of quality within education.
Fundación Telefónica has spent eleven years concentrating its efforts on the field of education and through the EducaRed program, specifically on applying ICT to schools and learning processes of educational programs.

- 480 educational projects carried out.
- 32.514.635 direct participants. 99% of these have participated through the online initiatives of EducaRed portals.
- 266.285 people registered in 79 virtual communities for working and exchanging experiences.
- 34.464 teachers and students participated in 245 onlineevents and contests.
- 61.101.418 million visits to EducaRed portals.
- 280.010.087 million web pages viewed through EducaRed portals.
- 51.770 teachers, students, parents and others participated in 249 training sessions (on-line, face-to-face and mixed).
- 606.787 hours of training (on-line, face-to-face and mixed).
- 187.393 participants in other EducaRed projects.
- 30 Fundación Telefónica Classrooms installed in hospital centers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Venezuela.
- 10.2 million Euros invested in the program.
