Catalogues and Collaborations

Whether they are in-house productions or the result of support by other institutions, the catalogues published by Fundación Telefónica complement its exhibits, as they include commentaries and studies by specialists, technical details, comments and reproductions of the works exhibited.

In 2008, two of catalogues published by the foundation the previous year were given special recognition. The catalogue-dossier published in Spain with the occasion of the Marín exhibit, titled  Photography 1904-1940 was recognized by PhotoSpain as the Best Book of National Photography, while the catalogue of the exhibit Marta Colvin: In Her Workshop, published in Chile, received the silver medal in the International Printing Quality Competition held in São Paulo in May. 

In addition,  the Sixth Edition of Prizes for Visual Design, another two  catalogue-dossiers published by the foundation in Spain in 2008 were prize winners: Horacio Coppola. Photography, winning the Book Design Prize and Thomas Demand. Camera, the Photography Prize.

Finally, for several years Fundación Telefónica has collaborated actively with other museums and cultural institutions in organizing exhibits and other activities. One important exhibit in 2008 was the “Banquete_nodos y redes”, produced in collaboration with the Labor Center of Art and Industrial Creation of Gijón, of which the Foundation is founder and patron. This exhibit was seen by more than 10,500 visitors.
