With the constant commitment to contribute to the promotion and the development of our culture, Fundación Telefónica started this collection in 1997, with the firm intention to recover the renovating trends of the Spanish figurative painting movement of the 20th Century, with a special focus on those linked to the so-called Paris and Madrid schools. As of today, the Collection boasts works from approximately fifty consecrated authors such as Óscar Domínguez, Pancho Cossío, Joaquín Peinado, Celso Lagar, Benjamín Palencia, Luís Barjola, Menchu Gal and many others.
This section includes works from temporary exhibitions, which were acquired by Fundación Telefónica in order to exhibit them in our art halls. Thus, it includes works by acclaimed authors such as Daniel Canogar, Montserrat Soto, Joan Fontcuberta, or Javier Vallhonrat.
