Located inside Telefónica’s Central Juncal historic building in Buenos Aires, at Espacio Fundación Telefónica, exhibitions and conferences coexist with education and state-of-the-art technology applied to art.
Espacio Fundación Telefónica (EFT) opened on 20 November 2003, with the aim of stimulating encounters, reflection and exchange between the different sectors of culture surrounding the convergence between art and new technologies. Keeping this idea in mind, the building, located at calle Arenales 1540, underwent a remodelling process, which sought to provide it with an artistic twist while preserving its essence, by giving very subtle hints at the existence of the telephone exchange that will remain in operation on its top floors.
Whether through its support to research programs, the production of works or the dissemination of related cultural projects, EFT has consolidated its position as a reference point for all citizens in Buenos Aires with an interest in the vanguards, debate, and the artistic expressions of the 21st Century. Also, due to its design, aimed at securing access for people with disabilities, EFT is listed in the “Guide for Accessible Tourism”, which lists tourist attractions equipped with all the amenities required to help people with reduced mobility and visual or hearing disabilities to access and enjoy them without difficulties.
