Thinking Party 2011 invites you to discover the different ways of confronting reality
Do you still believe that there is only one reality? Our senses, our way of thinking, our experiences, emotions and wishes affect how we perceive it. The result of all this is the different ways of tackling reality and, therefore, the different results obtained when interacting with it. Creativity is precisely nurtured by this diversity of approaches.
Ortega y Gasset used to say that "there are as many realities as points of view"; do you agree? Do you think that we all perceive the same reality? Do you think that an uneducated eye sees, for instance, a landscape in the same way that an artist or a scientist would? Why is it that, where some feel fear, others see opportunities?
We are going to listen and talk to people that read reality from very different angles: Cooks, artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, educators, behaviour experts ... Also, we will enjoy a number of surprises, prize draws, interviews, karaoke, rap, a closing party, etc. In other words, a day to enjoy with friends, to be enriched by the insight of others, with conversations. Our list of guests include journalist Mara Torres; blogger Miguel Nonay; lecturer and writer Jorge Wagensberg; Carlos Luna, General Director of Angulas Aguinaga, and actor and comedian Leo Harlem, etc.
This year’s Thinking Party wants to address all these questions on Friday 8th July, from 9:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor of Círculo de Bellas Artes (C/ Marqués de Casa Riera, 42. Madrid).
Don’t miss out!
