Gemma Muñoz holds a three-year degree in Computer Sciences and a Masters Degree in Web Analytics from the University of British Columbia. She is currently the Director of Panda Security’s Web Analytics department. She has a blog on web analytics, “¿Dónde está Avinash cuando se le necesita? (Where is Avinash when you need him?)” and writes in “Territorio Creativo” a blog specializing in the latest Marketing trends. She is co-author of “Métricas del Marketing (Marketing Metrics)”, currently in its 2nd Edition, published by ESIC. She also teaches at several Marketing Intelligence Masters programs at the ESIC Business School, INESE, and Academia Secuoyas. She actively collaborates with Conversion Thursday, which takes place every month in Madrid, and has spoken at different industry events.

Juan Leal has been working in the world of usability and Interaction Design for over 10 years. He gives advice to companies and startups on how to make their digital processes easier, so that they are easy to understand for any human being. Bachelor in Ergonomics and Human Factor by the Technical University of Lisbon, he started his professional career working for one of the first consulting companies specializing in Interaction Design: IconMedialab, at their Lisbon offices. He then joined Terra Networks’ User Experience team, in Madrid. He has also worked as Director of Usability at Idealista.com and has taught at the Open University of Catalunya, teaching Interaction Design. He is now the head of his own Usability and Design studio, Seisdeagosto.com, where he works for customers such as Nokia Finland, Vogue, Marca, Endesa, BBVA, Elektrobit Finland, or Vodafone Portugal. A frequent speaker in industry events, he is also the co-founder of 2 start-ups (Kakoe.es and Voota.es) and an investor in another two (Vinogusto.com and Masquemedicos.com).

The purpose of the web analyst is to account for and interpret the data generated by a website’s “traffic” related data (number of unique visitors, pages viewed, origin of visitors, etc.) as the basis to improve different aspects of said website. The web usability professional is the person responsible for taking the adequate measures to guarantee clarity and user friendliness of a web page and its contents for its visitors.
