Since 1998, one of the key aims of Fundación Telefónica has been to promote quality enhancement in education by blending ICTs into pedagogical models. The Educared Portal was developed as an intercultural learning network community and an international reference in the analysis of educational innovation.
Through the interrelationship of three key components (technology, pedagogy and educational content) we promote the interaction between teachers, students, parents and schools to share educational values between cultures.
With the Educared Portal we create an educational model that can be expanded and replicated globally among users in an autonomous and sustainable way. In addition, we work to create a social network and a community of relevant learning: the program allows users to experience, connect to and share a far-reaching and high-value educational objective.
Every year, Fundación Telefónica organizes the EducaRed International Award aimed at teachers from around the world to help improve the quality of education through ICTs, and every two years we hold the EducaRed International Congress, providing a space for debate on subjects concerning Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and education. The event, which has evolved into a relevant space for the dissemination of the educational use of the Internet in Latin America, will take place in Spain and last for 3 days, over the course of which speakers and international guests will share their views on technology issues applied to the education sector.
