This award aims to provide teachers with new tools, knowledge and working methods to take on the changes that the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have brought upon our society and the new generations of students, as well as in the teaching and learning methods.

The International Educared Award is the result of the experience in the Educared “A Navegar (Navigate Away)” Contest. This Event was held annually in Spain, and during the academic year 2009-2010, with the birth of EducaRed’s new global portal, it became an international initiative.

In line with this philosophy, Educared organizes this initiative on a yearly basis, aimed at schools around the world, with the following objectives: 

• To promote the educational use of Information and Communication Technologies.
• To help the educational community become aware of the potential value of ICTs as a resource for teaching and education.
• To provide the educational community with the opportunity to engage in initiatives and activities in connection with this objective.
• To acknowledge the efforts of the teachers that strive to introduce ICTs into the teaching-learning processes.
