Fundación Telefónica and Amaia Montero are giving us a very special present this Christmas: the singer is donating the royalties of her new song "A tu lado" to children benefiting under Fundación Telefónica's programme to end child labour.
Fundación Telefónica has been running its Proniño programme to contribute to the eradication of child labour through the provision of quality education for 13 years. Amaia Montero has been involved in this programme since 2007 and has become a “Friend of Proniño”. The Basque singer has visited boys and girls in nine schools in Latin America on various occasions to lead musical workshops. During these visits, Amaia chats to the children; invites them to her concerts; and encourages them to take up music as a hobby. In 2009, Amaia Montero donated her voice for the song “Aquí Estoy” by the Colombian singer Camo, which was also dedicated to children benefiting from Proniño. Amaia is now once again giving her music, voice and affection to these boys and girls.
