Fundación Telefónica presents “Dalíludens”, a surrealist video exhibition in Lima

A selection of videos by audiovisual artists from Peru and Colombia will be showing through 29 April.

Lima, 9 April 2012.- Fundación Telefónica, with the support from the Colombian Embassy, will present the exhibition “Dalíludens: video exploraciones en el sueño de la razón (Video Explorations In The Sleep Of Reason)”, an assortment of videoart works that presents subjects such as the flow of identity, insanity, pleasure, the body, and chance, which evoke the Dalinian universe. The exhibition will be curated by artist and cultural promoter Paola Vañó.

In her own words, the aim of this project is to reflect on irrational objectual exploration of visual imagery. It takes as reference Salvador Dalí’s critical paranoid lucidity, who following Goya’s warnings about the monsters that the sleep of reason produces, showed us new methods and instruments to reveal points where reality cracks, which can be hidden in the most mundane moments and places.

The audiovisual exhibition will be showing at Centro Fundación Telefónica (Av. Arequipa 1155, Lima), and is part of the central exhibition on Dalí’s graphic works: “Del Capricho al Disparate (from Whim to Nonsense)” in which different cultural entities in Lima have been involved.
