Volunteering Supportive actions Spain
Asociación Realidades requested the assistance of Voluntarios Telefónica in order to work closely together to raise awareness of the important day-to-day work that has been undertaken over recent decades.
Madrid, 7 June 2012.-Working with people at risk of social exclusion has many facets. A group of Telefónica Volunteers has been working for some months on the development of a communications strategy for Asociación Realidades, focusing on helping the Homeless, to mark its 20th anniversary. A number of the beneficiaries of the program have taken part in the project, expressing their opinions on how they want their story to be told.
“The aims of this initiative were many and various" said one of the volunteers, "as we were seeking to create positive relationships, promoting responsibility and respect for colleagues, highlighting the participatory aspect of the positioning strategy and the direct approach to the Homeless”.
Asociación Realidades requested the assistance of Voluntarios Telefónica in order to work closely together to raise awareness of the important day-to-day work that has been undertaken over recent decades. The idea was to give them a main role as well as the responsibility of taking part in an inspiring project which would motivate them and build their interest in taking control of their own lives.
One of the first fruits of this collaboration saw homeless people, speaking in video about, how they saw the future and the ways in which Asociación Realidades had helped them.
This audiovisual project, along with a series of photos taken during the most recent Telefónica Internacional Volunteers' Day, was shown on Friday 8 June at the Matadero in Madrid.
The work undertaken by Telefónica Volunteers with the Asociación Realidades and homeless people will continue until late 2012.
