After an extensive selection process, Jeremías Melo was chosen to take up the position of Risk Prevention Analyst at Telefónica.
Panamá, 4 may 2012.- For 10 years Jeremías participated in the Proniño programme, he has formed part of the Fundación Telefónica's Young People’s Network since last year and his background includes a number of successes. His most recent achievement is being picked to be a Risk Prevention Analyst at Telefónica Panama, which came after competing with other candidates for the position.
In his new position, the 21-year old will investigate and process fraud cases and will analyse information in order to detect irregular patterns.
Jeremías lives in Panama City and he is in the third year of a degree in Accountancy. The young man arrived at Proniño at the age of 10, after a social worker at one of the NGOs linked to Fundación Telefónica found him selling cartridges in Calidonia.
While he was in the programme, Jeremías represented Panama in a debate held in Guatemala in 2007 along with young people from different countries. Last year, the student registered with Jóvenes de Fundación Telefónica (Telefónica’s Young People’s programme), when he participated in the programme’s National Conference. Having maintained a good academic record, this year he received a grant from Fundación Telefónica in order to continue his studies.
