Over 2000 persons visited the Oscar Niemeyer show during La Noche en Blanco
Last Saturday September 18th and in the early hours of Sunday 20th, thousands of people participated in the fourth edition of La Noche en Blanco in Madrid, an initiative that seeks to transform the Spanish capital for one day with a wide range of artistic and cultural events distributed throughout the city centre.
This year Fundación Telefónica has once again participated in the event, this time with a project known as Pixel Mirror by the Latvian artists Arturs Punte, Voldemars Punte and Aleksandr Jakovlev.
Pixel Mirror, which was displayed on the screens in the Telefónica headquarters of Gran Vía, 28, was the digital reflection of an invisible part of Madrid, a representation of the data flow that runs through the networks and the air in contemporary cities.
According to sources of the Madrid City Council, about 300,000 people passed by the screens installed in Telefónica's Flagship Store, among which were the Mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, and the Councillor of Arts, Alicia Moreno Espert.
In addition, over 2000 people visited until 1:30 a.m. the exhibition organised by Fundación Telefónica of the work of the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, which will remain open until November 22nd.
