BIOGRAPHY


Daniel Canogar was born in Madrid in 1964. He lives and works in Madrid. He studied visual communications at the Universidad Complutense and received his Master’s in photography from NYU/ICP in 1990. He is the author of Ephemeral Cities; Universal Exposition: Spectacle and Technology, Julio Ollero Editor, Madrid, 1992, and Spanish Pavilions in Universal Expositions, Sociedad Estatal Hannover 2000, 2000. He has been awarded numerous grants and artist-in-residence positions and has appeared in group and solo exhibitions worldwide. His work has been exhibited at the Fundación Arte y Tecnología, Madrid; Palacio de Velázquez, Madrid; Galería Helga de Alvear, Madrid; Galería Estrany de la Mota, Barcelona; Espace d’Art Yvonamor Palix, Paris; Centre d’Art Contemporain de Basse Normandie, France; Axe Neo-7, Quebec, Canada; Metronom, Barcelona; Centro de Arte Santa Mónica, Barcelona; Artist Space, New York; Museo Alejandro Otero, Caracas; the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, Ohio; the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein Westfallen Museum in Düsseldorf and the Hamburger Banhof Museum in Berlin
