"Nonlocated Events: How to Open Fields of Action Within Cognitive Cyber-Structures"

Networks as locations of "the information war" are dataworlds which are shared and continuously constructed by man and machine. But these networked multi-worlds consists of digital datastreams which inform, generate illusions, simulate and construct, hurt and destroy without any direct human body activity.

As a consequence the need for 'placeholders' in the hyperdimensional webs is emerging. Computer science offers simple agents as a solution for information selection and navigation in virtuality. The interesting question is if these placeholders have the potential of fabricating their own phenomena since their movement in networks can hardly be controlled, their effectiveness in time cannot be limited and their number can be continuously raised by copies. Knowbotic Research themselves emphasize the aspect of juxtaposing different levels of what is regarded as reality. KR+cF is interested in bringing these different realities into collisions whose effects of intensity and violence KR+cF wants to make perceivable.Such breaks have to be deepened, especially given an 'internet' that presents itself as a slick and perfect order for the exercise of prescribed individual, sequentially determined steps. We regard the harmonic and peaceful coexistence and community of various so-called interest groups on the internet and the world wide web as an unfortunate state which is based on the obsolete ideology of a rather abstract individualism. The fact that anybody can choose to deposit something on the networks cannot possibly define the ultimate boundary of this technology. We cannot see any progress in this. We hope to be able to induce unrest into such orders. In the first instance internet is only a communicative cognitive structure. But on the www we can,at least for the moment, see no attempt at creating an independent quality. It is a cliche of what is happening anyway and of what is based on automatisms, on worn-out old metaphors which are coming back, like the metaphor of the digital cities. Such presentations transpose the established artistic contents and models straight into a new technology.

Knowbotic Research offers experiential arenas for corresponding realities. The potential of creating a reality evokes simultaneously a field of turbulence where other reality concepts can collide. The cyberspace is not a stage for the celebration of the imagination but an experimental field where actions within such turbulent fields of cognition can be modelled. KR+cF is interested to open fields of action within existing processes of cognition.

KR+cF develops knowbots to maintain the communication in the fields of information processing and knowledge engineering. Knowbots incorporate fragments of different reality concepts. These virtual connectors or irritators can be perceived and modified in hybrid spheres between the real and the networked spaces. But the visitors of the installations don't act in reference to objects. They are embedded in technologically environments which are continuously updated by dynamic datastreams whose vectors show towards the insecure. i.e.the visitor is confronted to act in situations without having experience for it. Only such a practice in nonlocations between the media-channels are able to produce singularities, which are necessary for creating subjectivity in digital domains. Knowbotic Research will give examples of their last works: SMDK, DWTKS, hybridsphere.
