The Stage of MemoryThis exhibition, curated by Tom Skipp, is the first solo show of the artist's visual work ever to be presented in Spain. Kantor, known foremost for his work in theatre, is without a doubt one of the most emblematic Polish artists of the century, his work being deeply implicated with recent European history. Although the main focus of this exhibition is his paintings and drawings, exhibited are also many of his theatrical props and objects as well as a collection of magnificient photographs by Maurizio Buscarino. The Stage of Memory is sponsored and organized by the Art and Technology Foundation in collaboration with the Caixa de Catalunya Foundation, the Cricoteka of Cracow (the archives/museum founded by the artist in order to promote his work and which houses the largest collection of his theatrical props), Maria StangretKantor and Dorota Krakowska, widow and daughter of Kantor respectively, the Muzeum Narodowe of Cracow, the Muzeum Sztuki of Lódz and Anna Halczak.
