MAIN THEME OF CONGRESS

"THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS MUSEUMS IN A WORLD OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY"

The main theme chosen for discussions in this IATM Congress underlines its current importance and meaning for the future of Museums. The presentations by participating individual museums as well as those by the official IATM will focus on these issues.

The work sessions will encourage attendees to imagine the possibilities that information technologies offer Museums.

Some of the work sessions will focus on the practical experience that some of the Spanish museums have had with these kind of technologies.

During the Congress, we'll have the chance to learn about the experiences of both our sponsors and of other Museums directly relevant to the theme.

In the General Assembly there will be additional discussions on the opportunities that new technologies offer the IATM in the 21st Century.

On Wednesday the 8th (complete day) and on Friday the 10th (morning), there will be separate programs divided into groups: Transport, Postal and Communications and Military Museums. The group sessions will offer specific works and discussions related to the main theme.

Museums interested in contributing presentations or in taking part in some of the sessions, must communicate their interest to the Organization Committee office:
