With an eye to historical and artistic coherence, the new Telefonica Art Collection aims to recover the 20th century trends that lead to a renewal in Spanish figurative painting and, more specifically, those connected to the denominated Paris and Madrid Schools. The works shown here, and in the permanent exhibition now open to the public, are but an advance of a collection which started to take shape at the end of 1997 and which, thoughtfully and decisively, is taking its first steps.
